What Exactly is Covered in the BJJ Games Instructional?
BJJ Games is your complete guide to adding gamification to your training. It’s the most complete instructional on the use of games and drills in the sport ever published.
Rob Biernacki has been using these games for over 10 years to create killers on the mat; they’ve been a huge part of his tournament success, and are one of the commonly-requested topic when he teaches seminars.
This instructional includes over 6 hours of material, logically arranged onto 4 full DVDs (for physical disks) and 12 pages of videos (for the online version).
You’ll get 25 different drills and games, each with different variations and difficulty levels so that you can get excellent training regardless of the level of your training partner. Even if you’re a white belt training with a black belt, or a black belt training with a white belt, you’ll BOTH still get something out of this training!
These games allow you to develop skills like being difficult to sweep or having a difficult-to-pass guard. These skills are often thought of as being ‘intangible,’ but the truth is that having the correct training methods allows you to systematically and reliably develop them to a very high level.
Most of these games place constraints on one or both players. This allows both parties to fearlessly hone new skills without getting trapped in the very narrow confines of what’s already working for them.
Every drill is taught in detail, then demonstrated in live rolling. The combination of detailed instruction and live training footage in BJJ Games gives you a blueprint for instantly responding to any opponent you might run into.
Play-based training methods improve your game much faster than only doing regular rolling or repetitive dummy drilling. This is a template anyone can use to refine skills, which is especially useful if you don’t consistently have access to high level coaching.BJJ Games is into 3 main sections: FYJJ drills, Specific Sparring and BJJ Minigames.
Here’s a great Youtube breakdown by Rob Biernacki and I covering these 3 types of games.
Each of these 3 sections have their own unique rules, goals, and winning conditions that will develop certain aspects of your game, including those supposedly ‘intangible’ qualities like a guard that’s hard to pass or being hard to sweep.
Furthermore, each game in those 3 sections is broken down by Rob Biernacki, and then demonstrated live by him and his students. By seeing each game in action you can immediately begin to incorporate it into your own training.
All you need to get started is a mat, a training partner, and this instructional!
