In 1939, during the leadup to World War 2, the British Ministry of Information released a classic propaganda poster with white text on a back background that urged the public to  ‘Keep Calm and Carry On.’

This was British stiff upper lip, through and through.

This iconic poster has had quite the resurgence recently.  It’s been used in the context of websites, coffee mugs, stickers, cupcakes and more…

So why not jiu-jitsu?  After all, it advocates dealing with stressful situations in a calm, methodical and rational manner, and that’s very applicable to BJJ isn’t it?

The more I thought about it the more it seemed like a good idea.

But for BJJ should it be ‘Keep Calm and Armbar On’… or ‘Keep Calm and Triangle On’… or ‘Keep Calm and Grapple On’… or ‘Keep Calm or Leglock On’?

I just couldn’t decide.  And then I realised that maybe this wasn’t my decision to make.  Why not let you guys – my readership – decide!
