The A to Z System for Mastering Kickboxing as Fast as Possible,
with Ritchie Yip and Stephan Kesting
It’s taken years of planning and research, but now The Precision Kickboxing Masterclass with Ritchie Yip and Stephan Kesting is finally available!
This is complete system for learning kickboxing by two instructors with more than 50 years of shared martial arts experience is available as a 6 DVD set, AND in an online format that you can access instantly on your computer, phone, or tablet.
In this resource of course you’ll learn how to throw punches, kicks, elbows and knees with speed, accuracy and power. Even more importantly, though, you’ll also get the defences, counters, combinations, training methods, drills and strategies used by the pros so you can actually functionalise this material in a real match or on the street.
Kickboxing is an Essential Skill, Even for Grapplers…
Even if you’re primarily a grappler you still need to know at least the basics of striking…
That’s because BJJ, sambo, judo and submission grappling are all martial arts, and martial arts ultimately mean the ability to take care of yourself on the street.
In today’s combat environment just being good on the ground isn’t enough. Every punk wants to fight in the UFC, you can’t just rely on having good hands. You need to know how to kick, elbow and knee (or at least know how to deal with kicks, elbows and knees) so you can close the distance, clinch and take the fight to the ground.
You DON’T want there to be a range in which you’re completely lost and terrified.
Nobody’s saying that you need to become a world class striker, but if you’re going to learn how to hit someone then you want the best instruction possible to get as far as you can in as little time as possible.
That’s why Ritchie Yip and I designed The Precision Kickboxing Masterclass!
What Exactly Are You Getting in The Precision Kickboxing Masterclass?
The Precision Kickboxing Masterclass is a complete A to Z system for mastering kickboxing. It is the resource I wish had been available when I started my martial arts striking training and it has over 8 hours of instruction taught in clear and simple ways using with multiple camera angles for maximum visibility.
The material is logically arranged into 8 volumes (which fit onto 6 dual layer DVDs if you end up getting the physical disks).
If you’re new to kickboxing then for the fastest bang for your buck I suggest starting with volumes 1, 2 and 3. With just those 3 volumes under your belt you’ll already be doing things right and building a complete foundation. After that the remaining 5 volumes will allow you to go as deep as you like into the kickboxing rabbit hole.
All of a sudden you’ll start feeling comfortable defending strikes and landing your own shots in real sparring while staying safe and getting in fighting shape.
Here’s a quick breakdown of what’s in the 8 volumes…
Volume 1, The Big Picture, Fundamentals, Stance, and Footwork
In this section you’ll first get an overview of the entire Precision Kickboxing program so that everything fits together and makes sense for you.
Then we’ll cover stance in way so that you’ll always be in good position when you’re fighting and able to deliver your punches and kicks at will.
Finally we’ll show you adaptive footwork so you can control the range you’re at and be able to put your favorite strikes exactly on target.
After building your foundation correctly in this section you’ll find mastering the rest of the material become much easier!
Volume 2, Kickboxing Tools (Punches, Kicks, Elbows, Knees)
In volume 2 we dig into the 18 different punches and kicks that you’re going to use to attack your opponent. From the jab to the hook kick, from the uppercut to the knee strike, you’ll learn them all.
We’ll show you exactly how to punch and kick so that your strikes are fast and powerful. You’ll learn how to make them non-telegraphic. And we’ll work with you so that your strikes are counter-proof, which means that they don’t leave you wide open to counters.
Ritchie has worked with thousands and thousands of students, so he knows the most common mistakes for these attacks and how to fix them quick.
Volume 3, Rock Solid Kickboxing Defenses
In volume 3 you’ll get the best defenses to all the kickboxing attacks, arranged in Ritchie’s ‘Triple H’ defensive formula.
You’ll learn how to use all the different kinds of head movement to slip, dodge and duck strikes. You’ll get the best ways to use your hands and legs to block, parry and redirect punches and kicks. And you’ll become an expert at using footwork to get off the line of fire.
These are rock solid defenses for every attack you’re likely to see in the ring. Plus you’ll also get the drills to make these defenses instinctive in sparring or in a real fight.
Volume 4, The Most Effective Kickboxing Combinations
Combinations are incredibly important, because in a fight you’ll rarely land the one magic fight-ending blow on your first attempt. Most of the time those punches and kicks will have to come in bunches, so you might as well train this way from the beginning…
The punching and kicking combinations in this volume are proven, high percentage attacks that’ll keep your opponent on the run.
Throwing a combination when your partner is holding pads for you is easy; bang, bang, bang, you just hit them. But as soon as you start sparring then choosing the right combination at the right time becomes a lot more difficult.
That’s why the combinations in this section connect together. The first strike sets up the next strike, the second sets up the third, and so on until your opponent is completely overwhelmed.
Volume 5, The Art and Science of Counterattacking
Defense may keep you safe but counterattacking is the dark art that puts fear into your opponent’s heart. This entire volume is dedicated to showing you how to make your opponent pay for even thinking about hitting you.
You’ll learn how to systematically counter every strike you might encounter, including exactly what to do with your hands, feet and body at every step of the way. And we’ll also show you how to time your counterattacks so they land whenever you want them to.
This is advanced material, but Ritchie’s system breaks it down for you and shows you the simplest, easiest way to get good at counterattacking fast.
Volume 6, Solo, Partner and Equipment Drills
The drills in this section will hardwire all the techniques and information in The Precision Kickboxing Masterclass into your brain.
These are the same drills used by pro fighters to make their movements fast, smooth and instinctive. You’ll learn how to
You’ll learn how to drill your kickboxing skills by yourself, with a partner, and using common equipment found in almost every gym. And you’ll learn how to maintain perfect form so that you don’t develop any bad habits for the ring.
Volume 7, Sparring Progressions
Sparring is absolutely essential for developing real kickboxing skills, but at the same time getting beat up again and again by someone much better than you doesn’t really teach you much.
So don’t just jump into full sparring and go for broke. Instead you should gradually work your way through a progression where you become more and more comfortable with sparring. In reality you need to learn exactly how to keep your eyes open, see punches coming, and then pick the right defenses and counters.
Ritchie Yip sparring drill progression will ease you into sparring. This section will help a LOT of people learn how to keep their wits about them in the chaotic environment of a sparring match or fistfight.
Volume 8, Winning Fight Strategies
In a kickboxing match you could face many different types of opponents. Eventually you’ll have to square off against aggressive brawlers who only move forward, canny counterfighters waiting for you to make a mistake, tall guys with super-long arms, shorter fighters with continuous head movement, and more.
In this part of The Precision Kickboxing Masterclass coach Ritchie shares his favorite strategies used by him and his students against each of these fighting styles.
By making sure you’ve got an answer to every kind of fighter you might run into you’ll never caught unawares with your pants down. And you’ll get those answers in this super-useful section!

Becoming a Precision Fighter
In fighting there are two fundamental types of fighters: ‘brawlers’ and ‘boxers’.
Brawlers like to get in there and mix it up: stand and bang is the name of their game. They’re happy to take a punch to land a punch. Instead of having good defense they use power, toughness and a hell of a chin to survive.
Brawling is a viable strategy if you’re young, strong and dumb, but it may not be the best in the long run. After a few years of this you’ll be slurring your words like a chronic drunk.
Boxers, on the other hand, rely on precision, strategy, footwork, distancing and deception to win fights. They’re always looking to create angles where they can hit and not be hit by their opponents.
This style of fighting includes some of the most famous boxers in history, including Muhammed Ali, Floyd Mayweather Jr, and Vasyl Lomanchenko.
This division of fighters into brawlers and boxerapplies just as much to kickboxing as it does to boxing.
In kickboxing you can stand in front of your opponent, trading cross for cross, hook for hook, and leg kick for leg kick (the brawler strategy). And if you’ve got a high pain tolerance and a low regard for your brain cells this method of fighting might serve you well. Plus your face might get permanently rearranged and put an end to your modelling career.
But you do have another option… You can become a precision kickboxer.
You can learn how to deliver your punches and kicks non-telegraphically so they seem to come out of nowhere. You can use one technique to set up the next so your opponent never gets the chance to counter effectively. You can use footwork to create angles so he’s never in a good position to hit you. And you can learn to recognise your opponent’s patterns and take advantage of them whenever you want.
That sounds like a more effective, more sustainable and way more fun option, doesn’t it? Well, the Precision Kickboxing Masterclass is going to give you a blueprint for becoming that kind of fighter!
I’ve seen it a hundred times: students come in, eager to spar for the first time.
Their combos are crisp and well practiced. They’re fast, fit and eager to test out their skills with their friends. Confidence and pride beam from their eyes. As they warm up, there’s spring in their step. They’re shadowboxing, laughing and smiling. Joking around with their classmates.
After a few warm up drills, the sparring starts. And everything changes.
Frustration and confusion replace the laughter and the confidence.
Punches don’t land. Fighting stances wither. Hands flail around aimlessly like their being attacked by a swarm of bees.
One of the guys kneels down exhausted: it was only a single two minute round; on the pads he can go 10 times longer so being this tired doesn’t make any sense.
But this is normal, and we all go through this. We learn the techniques but hit a wall as soon as we try to functionalize the techniques in sparring.
There’s a big difference between hitting pads and actually pulling those moves off in sparring.
Making this transition can be incredibly frustrating, and people often quit kickboxing altogether after sparring after the first time. It’s just too hard, too out of control, and you can’t help but feel like a loser.
I hear the same things again and again from my students, “I’m good at kickboxing but I should be better at sparring. I’m not going to spar anymore. I feel like a beginner all over again. I feel like I suck. I want to feel like a winner.”
You know what? Its okay. Sparring is a completely new set of skills that need to be trained in the right way.
First you learn kickboxing skills in isolation, striking into the air, hitting pads or slamming into the heavy bag. This can be challenging at first but most kickboxing instructors can teach this material well so eventually most students get it.
You have to understand that there’s a second learning process that happens when you start applying those skills against a moving opponent who hits back.
There’s an entire process applying your skills against resistance much easier to learn. A series of gradual steps, each stage a little more challenging than the last, but also entirely achievable so that you don’t feel completely ovewhelmed.
Don’t just go directly into full sparring blindly and hope for the best. Do it gradually, a step at a time, and you’ll actually learn way more and get better much faster.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What the format of The Precision Kickboxing Masterclass?
A: It is currently available in a 6 DVD set (most of those DVDs are dual layer to fit all the information) and in an instantly available streaming format on Grapplearts.com. As part of the initial launch we’re offering an option of getting both the DVDs and the online version for the price of just the DVDs.
Q: Is this an app, or will a series of apps with this material become available in the future.
Firstly, the on-demand digital version plays very well on smartphones and tablets anywhere that you have data or a wifi connection.
But at some point we may be adding this information to The Grapplearts BJJ Master App for Android and iOS which is our one-stop-reference app for all things grappling. If you’ve previously purchased The Precision Kickboxing Masterclass and then we end up adding this material to that app then just get in touch with us and we’ll give you free access to all that material you’ve already paid for.
Q: Is kickboxing safe?
A: The Precision Kickboxing Masterclass is much safer than many approaches to kickboxing for two main reasons…
First, your safety is paramount at every stage of the process. We don’t want your training partner to injure you and we don’t want you to injure yourself with incorrect technique.
Secondly, the progression focuses on developing perfect form and rock solid defense before you ever go anywhere the ring. This way you won’t be exposing yourself to shots from your sparring partners nearly as often.
Thirdly, Ritchie definitely doesn’t advocate throwing beginners into sparring and letting them learn how to fend for themselves the hard way. Instead you’ll go through through a series of controlled sparring drills that make sure the entire process is a controlled, enjoyable, and safe experience.
